Poppies in a green field

Where soldiers lie

Our Welland Park creative writers have written some inspirational Remembrance Day “Lest We Forget” poems. You can read all the others from the links at the bottom.

In the fields,
where the wildlife grows,
you may find
a wonderful meadow.

With lots of flowers,
Beautiful and red.
Where soldiers lie in eternity,
in their dirt beds.

All the war and conflict,
the sadness and despair.
If you go to see it,
you could feel it in the air.

Now, let’s stand in silence,
respectful and loyal.
Without anxiety, or stress,
without pain or toil.

So,
LEST WE FORGET.
