War

Our Welland Park creative writers have written some inspirational Remembrance Day “Lest We Forget” poems. You can read all the others from the links at the bottom.

The terrible thing that rips families apart

War

The poppies standing tall in the field

Standing as a reminder of the blood spilled over the field and generational hearts

War

Heroic soldiers stood hidden in the trenches

Fighting for our freedom

War

Many days on end they fought

Some may be barely adults

Some still in childhood

Desperate to serve the country

War

The 880,000 soldiers who laid down their lives for the better.

War

On the 11 of November and every day we shall honour them
