Dear Grandad

The Speak Out Team are working with the creative writing group at Welland Park Academy and came up with a brief to “Write a letter that you will never send”.

Dear grandad,

I can’t even express how much I have missed you over the last couple of years. I can remember the last Christmas that I saw you, it was the last time I ever saw you too.

I ran down the stairs and you were laughing because you said that “you remember when you used to run down the stairs like that” I can also remember when I came round your house and I was playing with your chair.

Thank you for all the memories we have made and the pictures we have. My favourite memory is walking into your house unexpected and eating all your Maltesers out of your Malteser jar (I can never eat them the same).

I try to come and visit you whenever I can and bring you new flowers.

I got into my first musical with the spotlight theatre company. It was ‘grease’ I think you would of really enjoyed coming to watch it with your friends from the club you used to go to. I could imagine you being there in the audience singing along with all the songs. I knew you loved grease.

I can remember when you used to pick me up from school in your little blue car. I used to love my mum telling me that you were picking me up from school because you used to always bring me chocolate or biscuits.

I miss you more and more everyday and hopefully we will meet again someday.

Victoria x
