The sea

Our Creative Writing Competition, “Stranded on a Desert Island,” invited young writers to explore themes of survival, isolation, and discovery. We are delighted to be now working with students from Kibworth Mead.

The Seas and Rivers , Oceans and Lakes

All from water, I know, that’s all it takes

You and me together at last

Our feet tickling the most gentle lapping waves

The water slipping between our toes

This water showing a symmetrical world.

The seas hold a key to life

Where we came from, our past life

And through little fish and big coral reefs

Great white sharks and whales, Good grief

The 7 oceans are our lost battle grounds

Where the seas became our friends

And land our foe.

Lakes, a beautiful landscape

Where artists and crafters marvel and dabble

In their colorful rivers of grappling waves

Not forgetting the rapid rivers

Experience all its rage

Where jumping fish migrate

And kayaking takes place

See what we would do without water

As cold and wet as it can be

Our lives and souls depend on it

Through ways gone untold

Just remember the oceans are older than us

A lot older than your parents, oh gosh, i know

So lets take a moment to refine

Our wonderful water world

Where the seas and land meet

They meet as one
