I didn’t mean to create this…..thing.
I was in my lab, alone, with no one else. I know I shouldn’t have been, but we had just discovered something magnificent, something groundbreaking, something getting us a lot closer to this thing. The plan was to wake up tomorrow at 9.00am and complete further progression towards our creation. However, there was always one rule: NEVER ENTER THE LAB ALONE. My heart said wait for the others, but my head said go to the lab. Guess which I chose to follow?
I rushed down to the lab, got my lab coat on, put on my goggles and entered. There it was. The machine. The technology to save humanity. Little did I know that it could also be the destroyer. Our machine was designed to create living organisms. Our idea being to create unlimited good and end world hunger. But…..
….after flicking some switches and some buttons, the machine malfunctioned. The buttons flashed like police sirens and pipes were bursting creating high pitched whistling like a steam train. The glass cracked on the chamber keeping whatever we made contained in the machine. With the safety glass gone, the “thing” unleashed. I hid under a desk praying for my life. The silence had become deafening to my ears.
After 5 seconds of silence heavy breathing of what sounded like a bear could be heard. Quiet growling was echoing around the lab. What had I done. I didn’t mean to create this…
