Our Travelling Forward group recently embarked on a creative project making musical instruments from recycled materials. The children and young people had a fantastic time unleashing their creativity, transforming everyday objects into unique instruments. They especially enjoyed the process of filling the instruments with rice and the playful mess it created.
Afterwards, the children took some time to reflect on their creations. They shared what they thought went well and discussed what they would improve next time. This added an extra layer of learning and growth to the experience, making it both fun and educational for everyone involved!
What would they change next time?
One young person said to have some black tape to help her be more creative in the future. To add more sparkles to it.
What went well?
“I have made a guitar – which is an instrument I would like to learn to play.” “I have enjoyed using the stickers to make my shaker look more fun.”
