Icicles

For our last creative writing competition we invited you to explore creativity through two inspiring themes: Someone You Admire/A Role Model or The Winter Season. The entries were full of heartfelt words and vivid imagery, making it a tough decision for our judges. Here is James Harrison’s entry from Robert Smyth Academy.

Icicles dance, icicles fall,

Icicles fall all over the floor,

then the snow comes, oh how

beautiful the snow is, there is

nothing more beautiful than

the shining snow. The icicles

fall, the snow falls, and then

the icicles fall down from the trees,

the people come out of their

houses and rejoice in the snow,

for nothing is more beautiful than

to see the snow fall. Then seven

cold nights later the Emperor of

the town has a Christmas dinner

while watching the snow fall down.

The people go to ice rinks and

rejoice in the snow, for nothing

is more beautiful than the snow,
