Harborough District Children and Young People's Charity (HCYC)
HCYC supports vulnerable and isolated children and young people across the Harborough District through play and youth work sessions, clubs, and projects (Speak Out is one of them) using our mobile “Chill Out Bus” and local venues.
HCYC believes that everybody has the potential to create positive change in their lives, their local communities and nationally, no matter their age. The best youth groups are those that promote and embrace imagination and collaboration from workers and young people shaping them together.
Founded in 2012, HCYC is a locally focused charity helping 450–500 young people each year to improve their well-being, relationships, confidence, and life skills
“It is an interaction group. It’s a way to meet people who are in the same or similar situation as you”

HCYC is a registered charity, and relies on grants and donations to carry out its work. We are very grateful for our funders’ support
Our trustees
Trustees play a vital role in guiding HCYC’s direction, ensuring goals are met, compliance is maintained, and the right resources are in place. HCYC values diverse skills, experiences, and voices – especially from young people with experience in youth services. Join HCYC as a trustee to make a difference and build your leadership skills.

We would love to have young people involved as trustees. If you are over 16 and want to find out more, we have put together information on what the role entails and what you can gain from it.
