For our last creative writing competition we invited you to explore creativity through two inspiring themes: Someone You Admire/A Role Model or The Winter Season. The entries were full of heartfelt words and vivid imagery, making it a tough decision for our judges. Here is Rupert King’s entry from Robert Smyth Academy.
Old Bilbo Baggins
lived in Bag End
but for a hundred years he had
no close friend.
Rich and youthful he was
from his travels away.
Not mean with his money
as many would say.
His cousin was Frodo
and admired he became
their birthdays the same
and in Bag End they did remain.
Who would have thought
that all through the Shire
Bilbo and Frodo brought
Something amazing to admire.
